The Pokia - a real conversation Starter!
They don’t make telephones like they used to. I often feel nostalgic for the old rotary dial handset we used have when I was little, yet like most people these days, I love the modern technology that enables us to carry on conversations on the move. Imagine my delight upon discovering you can now combine the two! The Pokia is a modern day retro phone! It has a genuine old-school handset (it even has a traditional curly cable!) wired to work with any mobile phone (adaptors are available from most mobile phone shops).
By connecting the handset to your mobile phone with the adaptor you can use the Novophone to talk the way you used to. Why would you want to attach a great big handset to a teeny weeny mobile phone? Ok, it’s a bit gimmicky ( a lot of great gadgets are), but I think it’s pure genius! Admittedly, it’s hardly hands-free, it reminds me of Dom Jolly with that hilarious over-sized mobile phone! Imagine your mobile starts to ring when you’re standing in the street, you pull the Pokia out of your bag and chat away as usual. Eyes will quite literally pop! It’s silly, it’s amusing, it’s downright childish, yet I think this Novophone handset has a genuine classic appeal. Now you can relive the golden age of telephony by talking on an old style handset whilst still benefiting from the functionality and free calls that accompany your modern-day mobile - who says you can’t have your cake and eat it!
